Junior Oilers Celebrate September/October Players of the Month

The Junior Oilers are thrilled to recognize three outstanding athletes for their exceptional performances during September/October. These players have showcased their skill, determination, and leadership on the ice, making significant contributions to their teams' early-season success.

Cadence Richards | Junior Oilers White

Cadence Richards has had a stellar start to the season, tallying 2 goals and 4 assists for 6 points in just four AFHL U18 AAA league games. A strong-skating, physical, and competitive defenseman, Cadence has been instrumental in limiting opponents to just four goals across all league games so far. She’s on track to surpass her scoring totals from previous seasons at the U18 AAA level.

Cadence also played a key role in Team White’s historic first-ever Calgary Firestarter championship victory in September 2024. Off the ice, Cadence excels academically and recently received the prestigious Stephen Wack (Humboldt Broncos) Award at École Secondaire St. Albert Catholic High School. She’s committed to Brown University (NCAA D1) and will begin her collegiate career in 2025-26. Congratulations, Cadence!

Adam Kisilevich | Junior Oilers Orange

In his debut month of AAA hockey, goaltender Adam Kisilevich delivered elite performances that have quickly made him a standout in the AEHL. With a 1.97 goals-against average (GAA), a .928 save percentage, and one shutout, Adam ranks in the league’s Top 4 for GAA and Top 3 for save percentage among September/October goalies.

What’s most remarkable about Adam’s early success is his ability to handle pressure, fending off elite scorers and teams with poise and precision. His preparation, focus, and execution have been pivotal in propelling the Orange team into the upper ranks of the AEHL North standings. Adam, you’ve set the bar high—congratulations on an incredible start to the season!

Ethan Berard | Junior Oilers Blue

October belonged to netminder Ethan Berard, who was absolutely lights-out between the pipes for Junior Oilers Blue. Ethan posted a perfect 4-0-0 record with an impressive 1.75 GAA and a .933 save percentage, anchoring his team’s climb to the #2 spot in the AEHL North Division standings.

Facing some of the toughest competition in U18 AAA, Ethan’s composure and skill have proven he’s one of the league’s top goaltenders. His ability to make challenging saves look routine has been a game-changer for his team. Amazing work, Ethan—we can’t wait to see what’s next!
